Patrick van Zuidam's great dream has always been to create his own whisky. In 1996 he began the first experiments and only after several improvements was he able to achieve perfection and thus produce the first Dutch whisky on the market: Millstone. The name refers to the Dutch mills used to grind the grain used to make the whiskies. By using the windmills, the Zuidam family distillery is helping to preserve the important world-famous Dutch heritage.
A limited series of 850 bottles, aged in former Oloroso Sherry casks, which give it smoothness and a perfect balance of flavors. On the nose it is intense, slightly smoky and fruity; on the palate more smoke, citric notes, chocolate and dehydrated fruit appear; the finish is long and retains the hint of peat, which slowly degrades.
