Mint is an aromatic herb that has always been popular in Piedmont, perhaps because of territorial and cultural contiguity with neighboring France, where it is equally present. If at one time mostly the local "white mint" was grown with the arrival of the "peppermint" variety from England the production of syrups and sugary liqueurs quickly took hold. Today the production concentrated around the town of Pancalieri, near Turin, is distinguished by its unique and unmistakable organoleptic qualities.
