Genever Filliers 17 YO Barrel Aged (70cl 44%) - crb

On the banks of the Leie River in the picturesque village of Bachte-Maria-Leerne, Belgium, lies the Filliers distillery, which has been producing genever since 1880. The distillation process is totally artisanal, using only copper pot still stills, for five generations.

Distilled from corn, malted barley and rye, it ages more than 17 years in American ex-bourbon oak barrels. The result of this long aging is a silky spirit, with caramel and wood notes, followed by a creamy sensation accompanied by spicy tips. An exceptional drink, almost reminiscent of an Irish whiskey.
