On the banks of the Leie River in the picturesque village of Bachte-Maria-Leerne, Belgium, lies the Filliers distillery, which has been producing genever since 1880. The distillation process is totally artisanal, using only copper pot still stills, for five generations.
Distilled from corn, malted barley and rye, it ages 12 years in ex-bourbon barrels.
