A family distillery in the center of Flanders officially founded back in 1880, the Filliers distillery is located in the Belgian town of Bachte-Maria-Leerne. The Filliers family has been producing Genever, the "father" of gin, since the 19th century, so the idea of producing a gin seemed an entirely natural step. Dry Gin 28 is a pure expression of Filliers' traditional craftsmanship, developed over decades of distilling genever. The creator of the recipe is Firmin Filliers (1888-1965), a member of the third generation of Master Distillers. The 28 in the gin's name indicates both its date of birth, 1928, and the fact that it contains 28 botanicals. This gin is a tribute to its creator: Firmin Filliers (1888- 1965), bringing back the end result he had chosen himself by focusing on the deepest botanicals: malt, hops, angelica root and lavender, rediscovering the full essence of the original recipe. The solution is a gin with a deep, intense and tenacious flavor that delicately releases all the hints of its botanicals.
