CHARACTERISTICS

A typical expression of a grape variety unique on the international scene for its power and longevity, Tenuta Castelbuono's organically certified Sagrantino surprises with its softness, the result of skilful work in the vineyard and prolonged ageing in large wooden barrels.

The nose is a triumph of blackberry and blueberry jam, typical of the variety, with pleasant and intense notes of cherries in spirit, carob and rose petals. Notes of liquorice and chocolate embellish the organoleptic picture with its distinct typicality. The taste is creamy, powerful and persuasive at the same time, long and persistent with chiselled tannins of rare fineness, elegance and gentleness.
