Plantation rums are a genuine invitation to travel. From Jamaica to Barbados via Panama, Trinidad, Guyana to the Fiji Islands. Each rum possesses distinctive local flavors that faithfully reflect the identity of each territory. Each country that distills rum has its own terroir with its own traditions, production techniques and identity. Alexandre Gabriel, Plantation's master blender, chooses only the best batches from each distillery in the Caribbean so that they respect the unique identity of each territory.
A limited edition from the brilliant mind and artistry of Master Distiller and Master Blender Alexandre Gabriel. This rum was distilled in 2008 in Guyana, at Demerara Distillers, in a unique and very special still: a double wooden Pot Still that in the past belonged to the Port Mourant distillery, one of the oldest distilleries in the entire Caribbean, which closed its doors in the second half of the last century. It was then aged first for 17 years in ex-bourbon barrels in the humid tropical climate of Guyana, then a year and a half in France, at the Château de Bombonnet, enjoying the continental climate, and then further aged in small 400-liter barrels that had previously contained red Pineau de Charentes. This process gave the Demerara sugarcane spirit hints of red fruits and a slight softness that made it a top-notch drink. Collectible, as well as to be enjoyed with the best company.
