AROMATIC BITTER 1716 PACK COLLECTION
The Haitian liquor and distilling tradition is ancient, as is the production and use of bitters in blending on the island. A child of the art, in 1982, Jean-Didier Gardère, began experimenting by using local clairins as the base spirit, placing local fruits and spices in them, thus creating a kind of Trampé, the traditional fruity liqueur popular in Haiti. In 1991 he opened his first real laboratory, and in addition to clairin he began using spirits from other parts of the world. The name 1716 is a tribute to the founding date of the town of Saint-Marc, the birthplace of the Gardère and Peychaud families. Bitters with a long tradition, 1716 are made in Haiti with local and foreign base alcohol and native botanicals, but that's not all, there is also a bit of Italy in these Haitian bitters: lemon zest from the Amalfi Coast.
A collector's pack, to enter the fascinating world of Haitian bitters, phenomenal in blending, amazing in gastronomic use.
