After a rigorous manual harvest straddling the months of September and October, it is macerated on the skins for about 7/8 days, then matured in large 500-litre oak barrels for 12 months, and a final short rest in glass once bottled. A splendid Barbera di Monteforte d'Alba suitable for pairing with strong-flavoured dishes, grown in Monteforte d'Alba in the province of Cuneo.
Diego Conterno is a small winery, with about 7 hectares under vine, in one of the very few communes (11 communes) where Barolo can be produced. Managed by his father Diego and son Stefano, it produces a wide range of the noblest Piedmontese wines, envied all over the world. The entire philosophy and production of Diego Conterno represents at every stage the very high level to which wine can be brought. Incredible is the value for money.
An excellent wine with a ruby red colour and some violet reflections.
The nose is intense and vinous, turning into ethereal notes with proper ageing.
On the palate it is well structured, intense.
Best served at 18°C.
