PINOT NOIR Franz Haas
Pinot Noir, which for Franz Haas is 'the white among the reds', presents itself, depending on the vintage, with a changing play of colours ranging from light to deep ruby red. The bouquet opens with notes of morello cherries and raspberries, marzipan and plum jam, cloves and cinnamon. Finally, aromas of underbrush are perceived.
On the palate, the wine is fresh and lively thanks to elegant tannins that make it aromatic and round and ensure an inviting and tasty flavour.
The Pinot Noir vines are located at altitudes varying between 350 and 900 metres on very heterogeneous soils. High-density planting ensures the highest quality of the grapes. The use of selected low-yield clones guarantees continuity in quality development.
Vinification of the grapes takes place in open tanks in which the fermenting must comes into contact with the skins through frequent pumping over and punching down. Thanks to these techniques, the colouring substances and aromas contained in the skins are extracted and pass into the wine. The wine then matures for a year in barriques and after bottling it is further refined for a few months in bottles.
Pinot Noir goes very well with light fish dishes, roast game and red meat.
PINOT NOIR Himmelreich Hof
The noble title in the Himmelreich winery's red wine assortment is only acquired by this one: the very elegant and caressing Pinot Noir. In the glass it shimmers an intense, iridescent ruby red and seduces the nose with its delicious bouquet of red berries, wild berries and an understated but unmistakable vanilla note. On the palate it proves to be particularly balanced, inspiring the taster with its delicate structure. A great red wine classic that goes best with skilfully prepared steaks, braised meats or game.
The intense aroma of red and black berries is typical of the 'Fuxleiten' wine, which grows in Montagna, known as one of the most suitable areas for this grape variety. On the palate, it has a full, balanced and persistent taste with brilliant ruby hues.
