BAROLO D.O.C.G.
Bussia
MUNICIPALITY: Monforte d'Alba
The character
"The Bussia is not a vineyard, it is an ode to plurality. Being able to study its nuances for us is a total, immersive challenge. Over the last few years, our main objective has been to work more and more in the direction of micro-territories, and among these rows we have found bread for our teeth."
Alessandro Ceretto, technical director
The Bussia is one of the largest MGAs in the denomination, and is a real container: inside it hides innumerable originalities linked to soil composition, altimetry and exposures. We have recently arrived in the folds of this hillside and we feel lucky: accompanying a new territory in the glass is always exciting. Today we are confronted with several plots, all located in the median zone, and the wine we are making seemed to us, right from the start, to be a perfect synopsis of this terroir.
It is a Barolo that on the nose is reminiscent of damp undergrowth, oily earth. It is a tasty, chewy wine, has broad shoulders, warms the mouth and calls for a relationship with food: it demands it.
