La suadenza
"I vinified grapes from this vineyard until the early 1990s and at that time Brunate was the busiest landing in our collection. Sharing this hill with other producers and trying to bring out an original Barolo that adheres to the terroir has always been a necessity and a source of pride."
Giacolino Gillardi, Managing Director
For forty years we have been vinifying the fruit of two extensive plots, located mainly near the colourful chapel decorated by Sol Lewitt and David Tremlett in the commune of La Morra. Right from the start, the aim has been to tell the story of a vineyard that is the mother of naturally seductive wines in the most direct way: the Brunate Barolos, in fact, appear aromatically brazen and supple from the very first bars.
On the nose, it is a carnival of flowers, accompanied by ethereal accents, in the generous vintages, or by a range of citrus notes, in the fresher vintages. The wine is accompanied, in its youthful phase, by fruit that appears sweet and intact; the tannin is capable of innervating the sip and restoring tension, without detracting from the smoothness of the taste.
It is the evolution, then, that embellishes the picture, tinging everything with autumnal tones and puffs of smoke. There is an aura of pure hedonism that pervades the top of this hill.
