Soil: marl composed of clayey-calcareous schists on pietraforte mother rock

Vinification: Petresco is the result of careful selection of Sangiovese grapes from a single vineyard located in an apex position with respect to the others, between 470 and 480 m above sea level. Vinified naturally by spontaneous fermentation in cement vats
Ageing: after racking, the wine is elevated in small French oak barrels where malolactic fermentation takes place, followed by ageing for about 24 months. It stays in cement vats before being bottled and then refined for a long time in the bottle.
Colour: garnet red
Nose: the aromas on the nose open with notes of undergrowth herbs and ripe fruit, then move towards spicy and balsamic aromas
Taste: excellent structure on the palate, with a lively mouthfeel and excellently worked tannin. Closes with a persistent finish, characterised by a bitter aftertaste
