On the banks of the Leie River in the picturesque village of Bachte-Maria-Leerne, Belgium, lies the Filliers distillery, which has been producing genever since 1880. The distillation process is totally artisanal, using only copper pot stills, for five generations.
A genever that has been resting in American oak ex-bourbon barrels from February 1997 to March 2015. Distilled from a mash of corn, malted barley and rye in copper pot stills, it is a limited and rare series.
