Gin Zuidam Dutch Courage 88 Aged (100cl 44%) - crb

"Dutch Courage" was the name of the portion of gin given to Dutch soldiers before battles during the Thirty Years' War. There was a need for courage and drinking a few glasses of gin could help. The Zuidam distillery was established in 1975 in the Netherlands. It was a factory of just 300 meters with a single copper still capable of producing a single product line. Today the distillery has definitely expanded: 3500 square meters and four different production lines. The unique taste of Zuidam gin comes from a special blend of botanicals distilled by the discontinuous distillation method. The botanicals, spices and flavorings used are all natural: juniper berries and iris root come from Italy, coriander from Morocco, angelica root, fresh sweet oranges and lemons from Spain, vanilla bean from Madagascar, licorice root from India and cardamom seeds from Sri Lanka. Dutch Courage 88 is what happens when a fantastic Dry Gin is left to rest in American oak barrels.
