With humble beginnings, the beginning of Black Bull began in a grocery and liquor store in Dundee in 1864. From then until today we have continued to uphold the principles of our founder George Willsher.

From the earliest days George Willsher believed in offering his customers the ultimate taste and flavor experience. Using a minimum of 50 percent malt whiskey in his blends, he sacrificed profit for flavor, further enhancing his reputation. As a farmer, Willsher raised his own cattle, his favorite bull took pride of place on the label of his most iconic whiskey.
