The Speyburn distillery was established in 1897 just outside the small village of Rothes, nestled in the heart of the Speyside region. The only distillery to use the pure, clear water of the Granty Burn, a tributary of the Spey River, Speyburn combines its expertise with the most traditional production processes in crafting bold, bright, character-filled single malts worthy of Speyside's vitality.
A Speyburn release of the highest caliber, aged for more than 18 years in American ex-bourbon and European ex-sherry oak barrels. The nose is rich, with hints of toffee, toasted almonds, tropical fruit and echoes of smoke; the palate is round, with a distinct balance between hints of chocolate and wood spice; the finish is long, smoky and with very pleasing bittering tips. It won silver at the IWSC in 2019.
