Flaming Pig is the brainchild of Joey and Flor, two Irishmen employed in the beverage industry who saw a gap in the Irish whiskey market: a simple product that at the same time did not give up the bold character and iconic taste that entry-level brands lack. Flaming Pig is a blend of single malt and grain Irish whiskies, made richer, spicier and with a distinct smokiness. After blending, the whiskey is matured in intensely charred barrels for about 6 months, then cut with pure spring water until final bottling.
Although Joey and Flor harken back to and respect the Irish whiskey tradition, with Flaming Pig they have decided to create a simple but nontrivial product that needs to be enjoyed, not examined. The woody, caramel flavor of the casks means it is as easy to drink as bourbon, while remaining clearly, proudly Irish.
