Rum Grogue Vulcão (70cl 45%) - crb

The Grogue Vulcão on the nose has the typical notes of sugarcane juice distillates, calling to mind clairin and rhum agricole; on the drink it presents itself with notes of brine and thyme accompanied by citric hints. After a few sips one begins to discern almost creamy, savory, olive tips with a hint of white chocolate and vanilla, which combine with fruity hints of watermelon, pear and banana. The finish is mineral, slightly smoky and iodized. 

The Grogue Vulcão is a fascinating close relative of agricultural rums, it has similar hints of them, but it has a unique elegance, almost French in style, harking back to the tradition of terroirs, a word that can perfectly distinguish this distillate given the strong territoriality that belongs to it.
