Legend has it that Charles, a young Breton orphan, was hired as a galley boy by a private shipowner during the reign of Louis XIV; he thus decided to bring aboard both the cider he produced and his distillate, which the crew adored in equal measure. Thus it was that, after years of service in the navy, Charles was awarded the title De Granville, and he devoted himself entirely to perfecting his distillates.
A distillate of sweet, bitter, sour and bitter-sweet apples of the highest quality, all from orchards owned by the family and used for centuries in the production of cider and calvados. It undergoes a short aging process that preserves the fruity and floral hints so typical of the raw material. Ideal for the old-fashioned Norman hole, Maigret would have loved it
