The 2021 season was characterized by a moderately rainy winter, and a dry but
cool that induced lower production, due to floral dripping and thus the production of
lighter clusters than usual. Ripening started much later than in the last 10 years, the weather
sunny, not too hot during the day and cool at night, allowed the plant to catch up much of the
delay, so that by September 20 ripening was in line with several previous vintages. The health of the grapes
was exceptional at harvest. The grapes were perfectly healthy, thanks to the absence of rain in the last
40 days of ripening, the dry, cool and breezy nights, the limited firmness of the clusters due
to the smaller berries than usual; thanks precisely to the cool nights since late August, the
acidity remained very sustained. Thanks to the combination of cool, dry weather and healthy grapes, it was possible to
wait for the right aromatic and phenolic ripening of the grapes without losing freshness. In summary, the
2021 vintage can be considered as absolutely exceptional.
Still and dry Lugana in its simpler versions is excellent as an aperitif and paired with appetizers or lake fish such as trout, perch and
whitefish. The versatility of this wine does not stop there: the internationality of taste certainly does not find Lugana unprepared. This white wine is in fact
perfect with raw fish, from the "Japanese cuts" of sashimi and sushi to all the variations on the theme proposed internationally. È
also perfect with salmon and tuna, and goes perfectly with fish-based "finger food."
Serve at 12°C in wide tulip-shaped glasses. ml 750 ml
Grapes harvested at perfect ripeness bring a dowry of ripe white fruit, surrounded by fresh floral notes and hints of almond. In
mouth it debuts with typical richness, and the marked acidity has the task of tensing the sip and don are agility.
