A.H. Riise XO 1888 Gold Medal was created to celebrate Albert Heinrich Riise and his shining career as a pharmacist on the island of St. Thomas in the Danish West Indies. His work was honored with countless medals and awards, most notably the honors bestowed upon him for his creations at the prestigious Den Nordiske Industri- Landbrugs- Og Kunstudstilling exhibition in 1888, which brought together the best of art, industry, and agriculture from the Nordic countries.
