A.H. Riise Non plus ultra Black Edition is an exquisite blend made from the finest spirits of the West Indies and Central America. We dare say this is the pièce de résistance, the supreme creation of our master blender.

From the finely faceted carafe to the brilliant mahogany highlights to the satisfying fullness of the taste experience, nothing is left to chance. The Black Edition designation is reserved for spirits that have undergone additional aging in special charred oak barrels, giving true connoisseurs authentic moments of sublime pleasure. Non plus ultra, a Latin locution meaning "no further," was the personal motto of Charles V, emperor of the Holy Roman Empire and king of Spain. According to legend, the inscription was carved by Hercules on the Calpe and Abila mountains, the so-called Pillars of Hercules, as a warning not to cross the boundary between the known and unknown worlds at the Strait of Gibraltar. Similarly, A.H. Riise Non plus ultra Black Edition stands on the border between known and unknown: only the best drops from aged rum barrels are used to create the final blend. A.H.
