LUGANA D.O.C. SAN BENEDETTOOur Lugana San Benedetto is vinified only with the autochthonous Trebbiano di Lugana grape variety, grown in the picturesque area including the morainic amphitheatre and the south of Lake Garda.
Grapevines:100% Trebbiano di Lugana Geographical location and characteristics of the vineyard:between the towns of Peschiera and Desenzano, south of Lake Garda.Average altitude of the land:from 60 to 80 meters above sea level. Soil type:clayey-clayey Growing system and planting density: guyot. From 3,700 to 4,000 plants per hectare. Average age of the vines: 25/30 yearsWeed load: 8/10 per plantWeed yield per hectare: 100 quintalsEpoch and harvest management: last decade of disettembre and first decade of October. Manual harvesting. Vinification: soft pressing and fermentation of 15-20 days in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16-18 degrees.  Aging 4-5 months in stainless steel tanks and the following 2-3 months in bottle before sale. Colour: straw yellow with greenish reflections. Scent: delicate and pleasant. Taste: fresh, soft, caressing. Serving temperature: serve at 9-10°C. Food pairings: excellent as an aperitif, with appetizers, fish and all cold dishes.
