KOMOS EXTRA ANEJO TEQUILA
Komos: the tequila that perfectly embodies two head-turning lifestyles. On the one hand, its home is a catamaran in the Mediterranean dressed up for a goliardic party; on the other, it is the guest of honor at an elegant soiree such as the Met Gala might be. A strong, highly evocative name, referring to mythological scenes of revelry, for a brand whose strength lies in having redefined consumption scenarios and the concept of luxury tequila. Two pivot points, or two permanent centers of gravity: Mexico, with its best artisanal tequila production, and the Mediterranean, with its wine-making techniques. Factors that combine to create a tequila that is warmly proud of its Mexican origins but with its gaze straight ahead and open to the Mediterranean, its muse of inspiration.
Produced in the Tequila Valley, on the slopes of the volcano of the same name, the range consists of several expressions, all of them unique: Añejo Cristalino, Extra Añejo, Añejo Reserva and Reposado Rosa. The first step, common to all four expressions, is the production of a singular Tequila Blanco. Agaves, from the high and low lands of Jalisco, are roasted in traditional ovens on the slopes of the Tequila volcano; at this point, the juice is double distilled in copper stills. Voilà, ready to give life to the other expressions in the range, which owe their uniqueness to several factors: maturation in barrels previously used for aging wine, use of a special technique of aerating the distillate in Greek wine amphorae, enshrining the brand's Mediterranean inspiration, and the design of the bottles themselves, made of opaque ceramic and handmade to preserve aromas and flavors inside.
Ambassador of a more conscious luxury, fiercely Mexican, devoted admirer of Mediterranean culture: Komos.
100% Blue Weber from the Tequila Valley in the state of Jalisco; cooked in traditional stone ovens, spontaneous fermentation and double distillation. Two months of maturation in French ex-wine red Napa Valley oak barrels that allow the reposado to take on pinkish hues. Final aeration in Greek wine amphorae to soften the sip; a reposado with a nose of cinnamon, caramel apple and fresh agave. Overall it is a sip, long, rich and decidedly smooth, almost recreating the idea of chocolate-covered strawberries.
