""Dutch Courage" was the name of the portion of gin given to Dutch soldiers before battles during the Thirty Years' War. There was a need for courage and drinking a few glasses of gin could help. The Zuidam distillery was established in 1975 in the Netherlands. It was a factory of just 300 meters with a single copper still capable of producing a single product line. Today the distillery has definitely expanded: 3500 square meters and four different production lines. The unique taste of Zuidam gin comes from a special blend of botanicals distilled by the discontinuous distillation method. Produced using artisanal and traditional methods, it is then aged in American oak barrels for a few months. Flavored with ten botanicals, it possesses a unique flavor due to the time spent in contact with wood.
