Plantation Pineapple is a tribute to the famous Reverend Stiggins and his favorite drink, "pineapple rum," which he used to drink in Charles Dickens' novel Pickwick Papers. This delicious rum was created by Alexandre Gabriel in collaboration with blending historian David Wondrich, author of the book Imbibe!!!, among others. It was initially not intended to be for sale, but a victim of his own success at Tales of the Cocktail 2014, Alexandre Gabriel was compelled to market this incredible and wonderful pineapple rum. After careful selection of the most suitable fruit to create Plantation Pineapple, Queen Victoria pineapples are peeled entirely by hand. The peels are steeped for a week in Plantation 3 Stars and then distilled through Pierre Ferrand's pot still. Separately, the pulp is steeped in Plantation Original Dark for three months. After that, all that remains is to combine the two blends together and rest the blend in oak barrels for 3 months. Et voila, Plantation Pineapple Rum is bottled and ready to be enjoyed.
