Rum Diplomàtico Mantuano ( 70cl 40%) - crb

The Diplomatico Distillery was founded in 1959 in the Lara Region, in the wide and fertile countryside near the city of Barquisimeto. At the end of the 1990s, a group of Venezuelan entrepreneurs led by José Rafael Ballesteros, whose family already ran an important company in the sector, bought the distillery and the land for sugar cane production. The Lara region, where Diplomatic Rum is produced, is one of the most valuable areas for sugar cane cultivation. The different distillation techniques used and the exceptional storage in barrels allow Diplomatic Rum to develop its extraordinary virtues. Today, the dream of those pioneers to produce one of the best rums in the world is realised in 63 countries where it is exported and appreciated with great success.

It takes its name from the status of Don Juancho, described as 'Mantuano'. As a local nobleman, he used his position of influence to benefit the development of his region and to pursue the passion he had for travelling and discovering new spirits, especially rum.

Mantuano is an extraordinary blend of rums made from molasses and sugar cane honeys and distilled with Pot Still (40% heavy rums) and Batch Kettle (60% light and semi-heavy rums) stills. It is aged up to 8 years in American oak ex-bourbon and ex-malt whisky casks.

Characterised by its dark gold colour and intriguing olfactory bouquet, Mantuano is defined as a versatile rum, ideal for blending, while retaining its complexity for those who prefer to drink it neat.
